Ed Arcton, known and called was born in the city of Accra. He is the second son among four siblings. He hails from Saltpond near Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana. He is blessed together with his family and presently resident in City of Accra, Ghana. Ed is a graduate from Maranatha Bible College in Ghana and Graduate from Christian Leaders Institute in Michigan and Christian Leaders College in Florida USA. He was ordained into Ministry in 1989 at Community Bible Church. He received his second ordination from the Christian Leaders Alliance.

EARLY BEGINNING AND CONVERSION.

Ed walk and fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ started in 1970. As a young boy he choose to gave his life completely to Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior. I went through Christian discipleship and was mentored by Mr. Godfred Bobby who worked professional as a Medical Hematologist at the main Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana. My Missionary and Pastoral training started in the Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) Ghana, where I was trained as a Child Evangelist and Sunday School Teacher of the Methodist Church.

As a student , I was member of the Scripture Union (SU), and played a leading role in the SU in reaching out to other students in other Secondary Schools and Colleges in the city and beyond, together with my colleagues. Today, most of us are Ministers of the Gospel. I give thanks to God for His faithfulness in my life. Even though born into the Methodist Church, I had a lot of grounding in the Christian faith when I started to worship with the Baptist Church during my Secondary School days because of their emphasis on teachings of the Holy Scriptures, developing personal Bible Study, prayer life and devotion to God.

CALLING INTO MINISTRY AND TRAINING

After completion of my Education in Engineering Science in 1980, I felt the Lord’s calling into full time Ministry. I choose to work with the Christian Fellowship and Scriptural Union (SU) for a while. I was the Prayer Secretary for the Kaneshie Christian Fellowship (KCF) at that time, also became the leader of Youth Ministry by name Youth Club for Jesus. Zealous and committed to the service of God, I assisted other foreign Missionaries to plant and establish the Foursquare Gospel Church (Headquarters Branch) and the Assemblies of God Church, North Kaneshie, Accra, Ghana.

Apostle Ed Arcton

In 1982, after recommendation from other Church Leadership, Pastors and my Mentor especially, I sought admission into the Maranatha University College for proper training and completed in 1986. From there I found myself working with different Christian Organizations in Missions, Research, Pastoral Work and Church Planting. Three years later in August 1989, I was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel at Community Worship Church. The gifts of the Holy Spirit and the calling of God were evident in my life. I believe the Lord has called me into the Apostolic and Intercessory Ministry with a burden to bring Revival into our Churches and communities, promoting missionary work in an unreached peoples group in our nation and beyond. In Addition God is used me to provide and to promote Leadership training and prayer ministry among in the Body of Christ.

MISSIONARY JOURNEY

While working at the Ghana Evangelism Committee, and Pasturing the Community Worship Church, the Lord used me, to establish the Liberation Mission for Christ. It began as a “youth movement, primarily for evangelism, disciple making and prayerforce. Presently I serve as the President of the Mission.

It was through this LMC organization, supported by the Local church, that we launched out into church planting along the coastal areas of the Central Region of Ghana. Even though I was young at the time and majority of my team were also young, God used us to begin missionary work among the unreached people and planted local churches in the villages and towns along the coastal villages and towns in the Central Region of Ghana. Today these areas are no longer villages but have developed into modern towns. The Churches God used me and my colleagues to initiate and plant are still alive and growing under able leadership and seasoned pastors, some from Baptist Churches and other Churches. When I look back and see the growth and multiplication of the churches I give thanks, praise and glory unto God for his faithfulness.

REVIVAL

Ed’s aim is to bring Revival into the Churches in our communities and beyond. Worldliness, materialism, and spiritual filthiness have taken over the Churches of today. The saying is true “any church that fails and refuses to reach out in evangelism and missionary work among her neighbors and community becomes a mission field to be reach in by other believers”. I see the need of divine intervention and I sincerely pray for visitation of God upon our local churches once again for revival. There is undeniable need for another outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our churches and the Land of our birth, to purge the church from sin and evil works. I pray that God will prepare and raise up new generation of Christian leaders, committed to preach and teach the holistic gospel, the unadulterated Word of God in our generation and beyond. We need another revival that will shake the foundation of the church to take the Gospel into the villages, towns and nations. I stand for Holy Ghost Revival. To know more about Ed Arcton Click here

 MY GOALS

My goal is to be a faithful WITNESS both by Word and Life to lead as many as I can to the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus where ever I am. It’s my passion and trust to see this dream done and done well.

My goal is to be a faithful SERVANT of Christ Jesus, to be a servant leader in the hands of our God to serve Christ Church faithfully to the end in my days and time. I have learnt throughout the years that to be successful is a good thing but God requires us to be faithful to the end. Good success comes only from the Lord. (Joshua 1:8)

My goal is to fulfill my God given ASSIGNMENT on Earth. I have also learnt that God is not interested in our ability even though is a blessing to have several ability; God is interested in our availability, to use us for his own purpose and glory.

The key scripture passages that keeps me on focus is what I believe the Holy Spirit planted inside my life when He called me into His service are in the words of the Apostle Paul when he gave these instruction  to Timothy his Son ….. This found in;

1 Timothy 1:12, “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;”

1 Timothy 2:7, “Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, [and] lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity”.

2 Timothy 1:11. “Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles”.

It’s the same Scripture text, I derive my strength and encouragement in the work I do for the Lord Jesus Christ and His Kingdom.

My faith I confess, live and defend

“THE INSPIRATION AND INERRANCY OF THE BIBLE”

I believe in the Divine Product: Inspiration of the Bible.

Inspiration establishes that the Bible is a divine product. In other words, Scripture is divinely inspired in that God actively worked through the process and had his hand in the outcome of what Holy Scripture would say. Inspired Scripture is simply written revelation.

I believe that the Bible is God’s word.

The doctrinal statement I affirms, “The Bible, including both the Old and New Testaments, is a divine revelation, the original autographs of which were verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit.” (2Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)

I believe Revelation is God’s self-disclosure.

It is God making Himself known to men. (1 Corinthians 2:11–16) God has revealed himself in a limited way in creation. (Psalm 19:1) But the Bible is a form of special revelation. The Bible is “special” revelation in the sense that it goes beyond what may be known about God through nature. (Romans 1:19, 20). It is divine in origin, since in the Bible God makes known things which otherwise could never be known. The Bible is unique because it is God’s revelation recorded in human language. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17).
According to 2 Timothy 3:16-17 the words of Scripture are “God breathed” or inspired. This implies that God is the source or origin of what is recorded in Scripture. God, through the Holy Spirit, used human authors to write what He revealed in the Bible. They were not mere copyists or transcribers. The Holy Spirit guided and controlled the writers of Scripture, who used their own vocabularies and styles but wrote only what the Holy Spirit intended. (2 Peter 1:21, 1 Corinthians 2:12–13). This is true only of the original manuscripts, not the copies or translations. Although the original manuscripts have been lost to us, God has preserved the biblical text to a remarkable degree.

I believe The Bible is verbally inspired.

This means that the words of the Bible, not just the ideas, were inspired. What is more, this is true of not just some, but all the words of the Bible. As a result, the Bible is free from error in what it says. I believe strongly in the factual, verbal, historical inerrancy of the Bible. That is, the Bible, in its original documents, is free from error in what it says about geography, history and science as well as in what it says about God. Its authority extends to all matters about which the Bible speaks. (Matthew 5:18; John 10:35)
It is the supreme source of our knowledge of God and of the salvation provided through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 5:39–47).  It is our indispensable resource for daily living. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 1 Peter 2:2).

I believe even though the Bible is God’s revelation, it must still be interpreted.

Interpretation has to do with our reception and understanding of that which God revealed and recorded. (John 16:13). Revelation is a divine act. Interpretation is a human responsibility. Divine inspiration guarantees the truthfulness of God’s word but not the accuracy of our interpretation. The Bible is infallible in all it affirms to be true and therefore absolutely reliable. I (We), however, may be fallible in our interpretation of the Bible.

PASSION FOR TRUTH

The Holy Scriptures (Bible) is the Word of God. Full of Power and God’s Life. This Bible is the voice of God speaking to man, and not the voice of man speaking to his fellow men about God.

Above all, Ed‘s passion is knowing and loving the truth of God. Living and proclaiming this truth of God, as revealed and established in the Holy Scripture is the ultimate truth for all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. He does this with great passion, clarity, commitment and love for the Lord.

The truth of God wherever it touches, liberates all from the captivity of darkness and from the slave chain of satanic liars and deception. Jesus said “…you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free,” (John 8: 32). Ed believes that the Truth of God brings light and life to all who receive it in faith, for the Bible says that “…faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God,”(Romans 10:17).

JESUS CHRIST is the TRUTH OF GOD, the WORD OF GOD, the WISDOM OF GOD, and HE IS GOD who became the SON OF MAN to redeem us from sin, death and Satan so that we may have Eternal life through Him alone. Sharing this truth of God, Ed believes, honors and glorifies GOD and the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who is the image of the invisible God manifested in the flesh. “…and the Word became flesh and dwells among us,” (John 1:14).

Our God is magnified, exalted and worshiped when the truth of Him is known and accepted anywhere, everywhere and at any place. God is seen, heard and believed as people behold Him in His only begotten Son Jesus Christ the LORD. Jesus said “I am the WAY, the TRUTH and THE LIFE.” The Holy Scripture says, “The Son of God is the radiance of God’s Glory and the exact representation of his Being, sustaining all things by His powerful word,” (Hebrews 1:3 NIV).

It is Ed’s belief that we must seriously take the Bible as God’s Holy Word and read the Bible daily to hear God speak to us directly from His Word which helps develop our love for the Truth. The Holy Bible is God’s ABSOLUTE TRUTH and the constitution of our Christian life and faith.

CONCLUSION

Rev Ed Arcton as known and called is an Ordained Minister of the gospel with an unquestioned character and integrity. He presently lives in the city of Accra with his family, serving the Lord Jesus Christ and His church.

Ed Arcton persistently declares that;

“My vision is to make Christ Jesus Known as Lord and Savior to everyone”.

“My mission is to take the Living and Powerful WORD OF GOD in order to explain and expand the truth of God’s Holy Word to everyone wherever I’m, with deep conviction, passion, and great boldness and in the wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit”.

Ed says “I’m committed to the Evangelical and Reformed faith, as set forth in the historic Westminster Confession of Faith. (Shorter and Larger). This is the statements of faith. The Doctrines of Grace of our confession are beloved to Evangelical and Reformed Christians, because they are biblical and emphasize the sovereignty of God in salvation. “God saves sinners” this is the rich motto of our faith. In addition I fully subscribe to the Lausanne Covenant as my basic statement of faith and Christian values.

Lausanne CovenantManila Manifesto and the Cape Town Commitment

Ed would always conclude a message or conversation with Apostle Paul’s affirmation, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me”. (Galatians 2: 20 NIV).
